خفّ علينا

"خفّ على"

Means to treat someone in a gentle way, especially. when you want to be critical of someone.

I believe it is similar to the expression "Go easy on Someone/something"

خفّ على الولد، ترا هو بعده صغير

Go easy on the boy, he's still little

خفّ شوي عليها، ترا هي قاعدة (يالسة) تمر بمشاكل

Go easy on her, she's going through a lot

This expression is also used sarcastically, in response to people who talk themselves up.

i.e exaggerate whatever they are saying, to make someone/something seems more valuable or better than they really are.
